My dear Brothers and Sisters,

On behalf of the Executive Committee and myself, I am pleased to invite you to the Celebrations of the 40th Anniversary of the Assemblies of God – Mauritius. These Celebrations will be held from Monday 29th October to Sunday 4th November, 2007. Forty years in the life of the Church needs to be celebrated. All the Glory be to God.

This work began with the arrival of Missionary Aimé Cizeron in October 1967. It spread like bush fire and covered the whole of Mauritius. Today we have more than 140 churches and a membership of some 70,000. This is the work of the Holy Spirit who has used men and led them to spread the Good News in all the nooks and corners of the island.

The Celebrations will therefore begin on Monday 29th October by Evangelical Campaigns which will be held each evening all round the island. We shall have a Seminar each morning, during 3 days, from Wednesday 31st October to Friday 2nd November. On Sunday 4th November we shall close the Celebrations by holding a “March for Jesus” and we expect some 3,000 youths to participate. This March will end at the Rose Hill Stadium where there will be a big National Rally. The grand finale of the Celebrations will be a display of fireworks. The subject of the seminary will be : “The Work of the Holy Spirit and of the Church in our Present Society”

It will be a matter of great delight for us to be able to share with you all the blessings of such an historic event.

The registration fee for those coming from overseas will be 40€ - this fee includes the cost of transportation from the Airport to the hotel and back and also from the hotel to Grand River North West, where the Seminar will be held. For Mauritians the registration fee will be Rs 350.00.
